Environmental ADR

Collaborative problem solving for complex environmental, public-lands, natural-resources, energy, transportation, and land-use disputes.

Environmental Conflict Resolution

Workable Solutions to Shared Problems

The Army recognizes the value of ADR and collaborative problem solving for environmental conflicts, which can involve competing public interests and serious consequences.

The Army collaborated with OMB, the Council on Environmental Quality, and other departments and agencies to develop Basic Principles for Agency Engagement in Environmental Conflict Resolution and Collaborative Problem Solving.

Environmental conflict resolution brings people and organizations with differing views and interests together in a systematic, organized way to find workable solutions to shared environmental problems.
